December 9th: A Cozy Catch-Up and Creative Christmas Decor Ideas 🎄☕
Good Morning! Let's Catch Up
Good morning and happy Monday, everyone! I hope this post finds you in good spirits as we kickstart another week. With the weather turning nicer, it's the perfect opportunity to take on some outdoor tasks, like cutting greens or finding those elusive snow shovels in the garage.
A Chilly Reminder
Last week hinted at the winter to come, with winds that could chill you to the bone. It's definitely the time of year when even a simple act like pumping gas can be an arctic adventure. But fear not, because cozy chats and warm beverages are the perfect remedy for the cold.
Coffee Talk: The Mug Showdown
Who doesn't love a good coffee chat? Today, we kicked things off by showcasing our beloved coffee mugs. Tara brought her "snow polka" mug to the table—a design that evokes happiness and the thought of fresh snow. Meanwhile, my cup proclaimed, "I run on caffeine, sarcasm, inappropriate thoughts," because why not?
It's fun to choose mugs based on our feelings each morning. If you've got a mug collection, let's hear about yours. Do you select according to mood, or is it more about convenience? Share your favorites with us!
Staging Project Spotlight
Allow me to dive into a recent staging success—a lovely raised ranch home in Norwich. I teamed up with an incredible real estate agent, and together, we transformed the space to highlight its best features.
The house offers striking views of Mohegan Sun, especially from the porch and front windows. When it comes to staging, incorporating black, white, cream, and green brings a room to life. A design tip: Carry a consistent color theme throughout, like I did with green, adding life with plants and textures.
Creative Staging Tips
Use a mix of blacks, whites, and creams for a timeless look
Incorporate live plants or high-quality faux versions for vibrancy
Pay attention to lighting and flooring as foundational design elements
Explore trendy decor ideas, like hanging baskets for lighting, to stay modern
Webinar Weekend: Boosting Confidence in Marketing
This past weekend, I teamed up with my coach, Ly Wasu, to host a webinar focused on helping fellow coaches boost their confidence in marketing. Marketing seamlessly blends with various aspects of business, making it essential for growth and success. We touched on significant topics, from overcoming imposter syndrome to creating effective strategies.
If you're a coach or entrepreneur looking to refine your marketing approach, never hesitate to collaborate or seek guidance. Upcoming opportunities include guest teaching at Foundry 66, which I can't wait to share more about.
Tackling Imposter Syndrome: You Are Enough
We all face it—imposter syndrome can be a persistent hurdle, especially in creative or entrepreneurial pursuits. Let's remind ourselves: You don't need to have the same knowledge as someone in a different niche or level to be effective in your work.
"Keep looking forward down your pathway. Don't let anyone slow you down."
Joining a supportive community, like-minded groups, or simply gaining new perspectives through collaborations aids in countering those self-doubt moments. Push through the quicksand, because you're more capable than you think!
Transform Your Home: Christmas Decor and More
The holiday season is here, and nothing speaks Christmas more than a beautifully decorated mantle. I've shared how I created a festive look using layers of garland and a selection of additional greens, berries, and fairy lights.
Christmas Mantle Decoration Tips
Choose Realistic Greens: Start with a high-quality base and layer additional textures.
Add Stems and Berries: Insert different styles of greens to create depth and volume.
Incorporate Lighting: Fairy lights enhance the magical feeling.
Personal Touches: Include custom elements like painted accents to match your theme.
Whether you prefer artificial or fresh greens, mixing textures is key. Shop after-season sales for discounts or embrace nature's offerings for a handmade touch.
New Beginnings in Design
My calendar is filling up! I'm embarking on a new project in North Stonington, focusing on an entryway and living room redesign. Each project requires a personal touch and creativity, as no two spaces—or clients—are the same. Collaboration and communication are foundational as we work towards a dream space design.
Community Tidbits and Upcoming Events
While many of us wind down for the year, some exciting local events and opportunities are on the horizon. Mohegan Sun hosts a variety of family-friendly activities and shows—check their website for the latest happenings.
As entrepreneurs, connecting with resources, like grant opportunities and networking groups, helps push your business forward. Remember, the journey is collaborative, and the community provides the support system needed to thrive.
Wrapping it Up: The Spirit of the Season
With Christmas around the corner, let's embrace the warmth and joy that this season brings. Whether it's cutting greens, decorating, spending time with loved ones, or supporting your community, embrace the magic of the season.
Spread Good Cheer
This time of year can be a challenging period for many. A small act of kindness or a simple smile can change someone's day. Be patient, be kind, and remember that we're all navigating this season together.
"Be kind. You never know what someone else is going through."
Thank you for joining us today. Wishing you all a fantastic week ahead, filled with joy and creativity. See you soon!
